York, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg women's basketball squad fell behind York (Pa.) College in the second half and could not recover as the Spartans posted a 58-43 victory over the Lion's on Wednesday January 25th.

Game Highlights

-The Lion's jumped all over the Spartans early as they sprinted out to a 15-11 lead in the first quarter. The Spartans grabbed a 7-0 lead in the first three minutes of the match before the Lion's got back on track with a three from Shanique Mattis. Harrisburg closed out the first quarter with their own 9-2 run

-The home team put up more of a fight in the second quarter as both teams hit 13 points. Both teams struggled to find the basket in the first two minutes of the second before Sidney Gordon hit a trey to extend their lead 18-11. Kaitlyn Carmo had a strong second quarter performance, hitting 8 of the Lion's 13 points.

-York found their stride in the second half, outscoring Harrisburg 34-15. Harrisburg struggled to slow down the home teams momentum before the Spartans took down the Lion's for their 7th conference win

-Kaitlyn Carmo and Shanique Mattis led for the Blue and White with eight points each and a combined total of 6 rebounds
