Lancaster Bible Tames Penn State Harrisburg

Middletown, Pa. - Coming off a hard fought come from behind win at Frostburg State Wednesday, the Lady Lions looked to take their momentum into Friday night's contest against Lancaster Bible.  Unfortunately, the visiting Chargers had a different plan in mind as they took down the Lions 65-47.

The Lions started off the game in a similar fashion to their start Wednesday.  Penn State Harrisburg fell behind early as the Chargers came out on fire scoring the first nine points of the contest.  The Blue and White responded with a 6-0 run of their own to get within three points midway through the first half.

The Lions struggled to find their shot through the first twenty minutes of play shooting 25% from the field and 10% from deep.  Lancaster Bible controlled the glass outrebounding Penn State Harrisburg 25-17 in the first.  Sophomore Kaitlyn Carmo (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra Area) led the Blue and White with 8 of the team's 18 first half points as they finished the first half down 29-18.

Lancaster Bible came out strong in the second half extending their lead to 14 with just under ten minutes to play.   The Chargers continued to capitalize on their open looks and multiple second chance opportunities, keeping Harrisburg from ever gaining any momentum.  Carmo continued to be a bright spot for the Lions as she finished the game with 17 points and 4 rebounds.  Junior Lucky Snypse (Philadelphia, Pa. / George Washington Carver) added 10 points and 4 rebounds in the Harrisburg loss.

Penn State Harrisburg heads into the winter break with a 3-6 record and will resume play in the New Year on the road at St. Mary's January 3rd for a 2pm tip-off.
