Lady Lions Gets Ready for another Year in CAC

Middletown, Pa. – The Penn State Harrisburg women's basketball team will begin their 2014-2015 season looking to improve after a tough welcome to the CAC in their first season. Harrisburg finished 6-19 overall last season and 1-15 in conference play.

The Lady Lions will be looking to make great strides as they return multiple key players this season.  Kaitlyn Carmo (Palmyra, Pa / Palmyra Area) was the last year's leading scorer as a freshman averaging 12.7 points per game and will look to continue leading the team in her second season.  Carmo was named a team captain alongside other key returners Lucky Snypes (Philadelphia, Pa. / George Washington Carver) and Rachel Moyer (Carlisle, Pa. / Cumberland Valley).  Snypse's energy and Moyers leadership will be a key part to the Blue and White's success.

Returning point guard Rebecca Bailey (Tobyhanna, Pa / Notre Dame East Straudsburg) will look to take the role as floor general with her passing and ability to attack the basket.  Coming off of a very impressive statistical season, double-double Senior Kiara Carter (Bronx, NY. / Milton Hershey) will once again be asked to help control the paint for the Lady Lions on both ends of the floor.

Harrisburg has a couple of quality newcomers that Coach Patrick is happy to be adding to his roster this season.    D.C. Heat teammates Alexis Nolan (Beltsville, Md. / St. Vincent Pallotti) and Janel Brown (Gaithersburg, Md. / Magruder) could be tested early in their career as they look to add depth to both the front and backcourt.  Coach Patrick had this to say when asked his expectations for his team this year.  "We had a tough year last year, we faced a lot of adversity, but that adversity made us better. I think we will surprise a lot of teams this year."

The Lions get things started Saturday November 15th when they travel to play McDaniel at the McDaniel Tip- off Tournament.
