Harrisburg Falls at Marymount (Va.)

Arlington Va. – The Penn State Harrisburg women's basketball team faced a difficult test on the road against the Marymount Saints Wednesday January 15th. Kaityln Carmo (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra) led the team in points and rebounds, but the Lions would eventually fall to the Saints 66-28.

The Lions allowed an early 12-2 run to unfortunately set the tone for most of the night.  The Saints combined a solid shooting night with some intense defensive pressure that helped them to take the ball away 18 times.  By the end of the first half, Harrisburg found themselves down 39-12.

Jasmine Yanich (Harrisburg, Pa. / Susquehanna Township) hit the teams only three to start of the second half in good form.  The lions 4-0 run to start the second half was matched in the 15th minute when the Saints took back their 27 point lead.  For the rest of the half, Harrisburg kept things close, but the first half damage was just too much to overcome for the young squad.  Marymount eventually claimed the victory 66-28.

Lucky Snypse (Philadelphia, Pa. / George Wash. Carver of Eng. & Science) brought some solid intensity of the bench for the Blue and White finishing the game with ten points after shooting 3-5 from the field.   Carmo led the team in both rebounds and points scoring 13 and pulling down 4 rebounds.
Harrisburg, now 5-9, has to shake the loss off quickly and start preparing for the 9-5 Mary Washington Eagles.  The game is on the road Saturday January 18th at 1:00 p.m.
