Chambersburg, Pa. – Harrisburg came into tonight's game expecting to win another game en route to next Tuesday's opening playoff game.   With the Lions forgetting they still had two games two play before reaching that playoff game, the Wilson Phoenix took full advantage and grabbed their best win of the season upsetting Harrisburg 77-75. 

The Lions started out as usual, keeping pace with the home side over the first ten minutes.  The game was tied 24-24 with 9:26 until the half.  That's when Steph Yetter (Thompsontown, Pa. / East Juniata) and Mercedes Copeland (Reading, Pa. / Reading) combined for 9 points of an 11-0 run giving Harrisburg a sizable lead approaching the closing minutes of the half. 

Wilson slowly chipped their way back into the game with an 11-0 run of their own.  Just two minutes into the second half Harrisburg's lead was gone and we were again tied, this time at 41 apiece.  The next four minutes Harrisburg built up a 6 point lead.  Three minutes later the Phoenix again responded, this time to take the lead. 

Things stayed tight as the final whistle approached, until the final minute when a Wilson jumper put them ahead 76-71. A Miranda Zeanchock (Carrolltown, Pa. / Cambria Heights) jumper put the Lions within two with just 37 seconds to play.  The Phoenix went 1-2 from the line on their next trip.  Harrisburg responded scoring a free throw and then missing the second to get the rebound with 12 seconds to go.  Copeland was fouled and made one of her two free throws to put the game within two.  With only ten seconds remaining, the Phoenix held on for just their third win of the year. 

Coach Patrick put his team's current position after the disappointing upset perfectly.  "Tonight is a defining moment in our season. A time when our players need to look themselves in the mirror and determine how they want the story to end. It is their decision, it is their choice, it is their
moment."
