LATHAM, N.Y. - Penn State Harrisburg softball player Mackenzie Sawdey has been named the United East Pitcher of the Week.

Sawdey joins fellow hurler Kierstyn Smith (3/20) as Penn State Harrisburg players to earn the conference's weekly award this season.

Sawdey went 3-0 in three starts last week, throwing a trio of complete games and allowing just one earned run in 21 innings thrown. The freshman racked up 27 total strikeouts across the three outings, including a career-high 11 in a win over Gallaudet on Saturday afternoon. For the week, the Halifax, Pa. native recorded a 0.33 ERA and held opposing hitters to a .108 batting average.

The Lions (16-6, 8-0 United East) return to action when they host United East rival Penn College for a conference doubleheader at Courtney Pollock Memorial Field on Tuesday afternoon.
