Records:

Penn State Harrisburg: 10-8 Overall, 2-2 CAC

Franklin & Marshall: 13-11 Overall, 5-3 Centennial

How it Happened:

Before the game, the Lions welcomed the Courtney Pollock family to official dedicate the field. Pollock was a native of the Capital Region, and graduated from Lower Dauphin High School in 1999 where she played softball and field hockey and actively volunteered in the community. She graduated from Penn State Harrisburg in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education and went on to teach and coach in the Lower Dauphin and Central Dauphin School Districts. Pollock passed away from cancer in June 2013. Pollock was the daughter of Douglas W. Pollock, a Penn State alumnus and collegiate athlete. The Douglas W. Pollock Foundation made a $750,000 donation to support the college's athletics and the naming of the field and softball complex.

The Lions would explode out of the gate in game one. After singles by Erelle Sowers, Katie Humphrey, and Emily Parmer loaded the bases, Carlee Gochenaur drove a single to center field scoring all three base runners. The Lions would strike again in the fifth inning with Kristen Evans delivering a sacrifice fly to center field allowing Gochenaur to score.

Meanwhile on the mound, Allison Hartman controlled the Diplomats hitters holding them to just one run on eight hits. The Lions would add an insurance run when Emily Parmer crushed a solo home run to left field, putting the Lions ahead 5-1.

The Diplomats would take advantage of some Lions errors in game two of the double header pulling away earlier in route to the victory.
