Myrtle Beach, SC. – Penn State Harrisburg closed its spring break trip with a victory over Hilbert. The Lions were led by Allison Hartman who picked up the shutout victory while striking out six Hawks. Offensively, Carlee Gouchenaur doubled to left field and Erelle Sowers drove her in scoring the game's only run. The Lions would fall to Wilkes College in game two of the doubleheader.

How it Happened:
In game one, The Lions were locked in a pitcher's duel with neither team finding much offensive success. Allison Hartman kept the Hawks off balance all game, striking out six Hilbert batters while allowing only 5 hits.
Harrisburg's offense struck in the sixth inning, when Carlee Gouchenaur led off the inning with a double to left field. Erelle Sowers followed with a single to center field, driving in Gouchenaur and giving the Lions the 1-0 advantage. This was plenty for Hartman struck out the final batter of the game, securing the victory.
Hartman returned to the mound to start game two against Wilkes University and immediately picked up where she left off. Hartman would strike out five Lady Colonels and kept them scoreless through the first six innings.
The Harrisburg offense got going in the fourth inning, when with two outs Kaylee DeMatteo singled down the left field line. After DeMatteo advance to second on a passed ball, Nina Bruno delivered a double to center field giving the Lions the lead. Emma Lerchen followed that up with a single over the first basemen's outstretch glove, scoring Bruno and giving the Lions a 2-0 advantage.
Wilkes would rally in the bottom of seventh inning, scoring three runs to pick up the come from behind victory.
