• Lions Softball Ready for First CAC Playoff Run

    Middletown, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg women's softball team made history this year by reaching the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) playoffs for the first time. Harrisburg comes into the day as the sixth seed and will face the number one seed Christopher Newport and the Frostburg State.

    Newport News, VA. – Penn State Harrisburg Softball would battle valiantly in their first ever CAC tournament appearance, falling in both games to Christopher Newport and Frostburg State, ending their season. The Lions got an incredible effort at the plate from Allison Hartman who would record four hits on the day including two doubles and a homerun. Hartman would drive in six runs on the day for the Lions.
  • Lions Drop Doubleheader To Bobcats

    Frostburg, MD. – Penn State Harrisburg Softball fell to Frostburg State in CAC action. The Lions got a solid pitching performance from Kaylee Simon who pitched six inning allowing six hits and three runs. Offensively Nina Bruno led the Lions going 3-4 in the doubleheader.

    Salisbury, MD. – Penn State Harrisburg Softball dropped a doubleheader to Salisbury University, but due to other CAC results, clinched a CAC playoff berth for the first time in school history.
  • Lions Split With Wolverines

    Dover, DE. – The Penn State Harrisburg Softball team picked up a CAC conference victory over Wesley College. The Lions would drop game two in extra innings. Allison Hartman led the Lions in the circle only allowing one run in fifteen innings of action. Carlee Gouchenaur delivered two key RBI’s in game one while making several spectacular defensive plays at third base.
  • Lions Rally To Sweep Eagles

    Harrisburg, PA – Penn State Harrisburg Softball used late inning rallies to sweep Juniata College. The Lions trailed by two, entering the bottom of the seventh inning but got hit RBI hits from Emily Parmer and Carlee Gochenaur to force extra innings and in the eighth inning, Kristen Evans delivered the walk-off RBI single. In game two, with the game tied at four in the fifth inning, Gocheanaur would again produce an RBI single, putting the Lions ahead for good.
  • Lions Battle #4 Christopher Newport On Senior Day

    Harrisburg, PA – Penn State Harrisburg Softball celebrated Senior Day by battled #4 Christopher Newport in CAC action, challenging the Captains in all phases of the game. Allison Hartman pitched game one for the Lions and after allowing three runs in the first inning, held the Captains to just one run the rest of the way.

    Harrisburg, PA – Penn State Harrisburg Softball split with CAC foe Mary Washington. The Lions used a three-run rally in the sixth inning to pick up the win in game two. The Lions got another gutsy performance from Allison Hartman, who pitched all 15 innings in the doubleheader.

    Harrisburg, PA – Penn State Harrisburg Softball spilt a double header with Franklin & Marshall as the Lions officially dedicated Courtney Pollock Memorial Field and Softball Complex. The Lions used a big first inning to take control of the game one in route to the victory.
  • Lions Drop Extra Inning Heartbreaker To Spartans

    Harrisburg, PA. – Penn State Harrisburg fell to York College in extra innings despite an outstanding effort from starting pitcher Allison Hartman. Hartman kept the York offense scoreless for nine innings, allowing only three hits in the contest. The Lions got the go ahead run to third base in the seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth innings, but could not convert.
  • Emmett Named CAC Offensive Player Of The Week

    Penn State Harrisburg sophomore Dominique Emmett was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after hitting .625 with five RBIs in a 4-0 week for the Lions. Emmett notched three walks and reached base at a .692 clip for the Lions in doubleheader sweeps over Wilson and Souther Virginia. Her top performance came against Southern Virginia, as she went 4-for-5 in the twinbill with four RBIs.

    Harrisburg, PA – Penn State Harrisburg Softball used dominating pitching and timely hitting to sweep Wilson College. Allison Hartman held the Phoenix to just one hit, while striking out five in route to the 1-0 victory. Emma Lerchen, Nicole Ditzler, and Erelle Sowers combined to hold Wilson to just 3 hits in game two, in route to the 4-2 victory.

  • More Changes Due To Winter Weather

    Harrisburg, Pa- Due to winter weather, Penn State Harrisburg Athletics has several changes to its springs sports schedule. Baseball has canceled its game at York College and Saturdays games with Frostburg State. Make ups are still to be determined. The Softball team has canceled its home double header for today March 22nd against Franklin & Marshall. A make up date is yet to be determined. Softball has also moved its home doubleheader against Wilson College from Saturday March 24th to Thursday March 29th. The Men's Golf Invitational at McDaniel College on March 24th and 25th has been canceled. Our Men's and Women's Tennis matches schedule for today March 22nd at Lancaster Bible are moved to Monday March 26th at 3pm. Please continue to check back for more updates on the schedule changes.

    Harrisburg, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg fell to Stevenson University in double header action, despite several strong individual efforts. Kristen recorded five hits on the day, including going 3-3 in game two. Allison Hartman added 4 hits and Carlee Gochenaur and Katie Humphrey each recorded three hits.
  • Lions Split To Close Spring Break Trip

    Myrtle Beach, SC. – Penn State Harrisburg closed its spring break trip with a victory over Hilbert. The Lions were led by Allison Hartman who picked up the shutout victory while striking out six Hawks. Offensively, Carlee Gouchenaur doubled to left field and Erelle Sowers drove her in scoring the game’s only run. The Lions would fall to Wilkes College in game two of the doubleheader.

    Myrtle Beach, SC. – Penn State Harrisburg picked up wins over Gwynedd Mercy and Dean in doubleheader action. In game one, the Lions got a dominating pitching performance from Allison Hartman, who held the Griffins to two hits. Offensively Emily Parmer and Kaylee DeMatteo drove in a pair of RBI’s each in route to the victory. In game two the Lions built an early 9-0 lead in part thanks to a 2-run home run by Dominique Emmett.  
  • Lions Get Walk-Off Win Over Chatham

    Myrtle Beach, SC – Penn State Harrisburg Softball rallied back to pick up a walk-off victory over Chatham in game two of its doubleheader. The Lions were led by Jess Roelli who drove in two runs in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings. In the eighth inning, Kaylee DeMatteo and Nina Bruno drove in runs to secure the victory.

    Myrtle Beach, SC. – Penn State Harrisburg Softball split its season opening doubleheader, defeating Lehman College in game one and falling to Eastern Mennonite in game two. The Lions got an excellent performances in game one from Seniors Erelle Sowers and Emily Parmer who were combined 9 for 9 and drove in six runs. Freshman Kaylee DeMatteo led the Lions in game two, crushing a double to center field.

  • Harrisburg Picked 7th in Preseason Poll

    FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - Penn State Harrisburg was picked seventh in the 2018 CAC Softball Preseason Poll. Defending champion Christopher Newport was selected as the early favorite in the 2018 Capital Athletic Conference Softball Preseason Poll. In a vote among the conference head coaches, the Captains received six first-place votes and totaled 48 points to land atop the poll.
