GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's men's and women's cross country teams returned to action at the 30th annual Gettysburg Invitational on Saturday morning, Oct. 14.

 

On the women's side, Sephora Senestant was the top finisher for the Lions, with her time of 29:42.8 good enough to earn her 254th out of 318 total runners in the 6K event.

 

Senestant was followed by Katelyn Gormley in 283rd place, while teammate Nicole Wang crossed the line just behind her in 284th. Jennifer Ross came home 295th and Alyala McPhee rounded out the Blue & White scoring contingency in 315th.

 

For the men, Mekael Kassu, Cole Hovis and Carter Newman were in action in the 8K race, with Kassu's effort of 30:47.1 good enough to earn him 176th-place out of 276 total runners and the top finish among Lion runners.

 

Hovis crossed the line in 238th and Carter Newman was not far behind him, finishing 243rd to complete the team's trio of competitors.

 

Harrisburg will get a week off to prepare before turning its attention to the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Championship event at Southern Virginia on Saturday, Oct. 27.
