In the fall the Penn State Harrisburg men's and women's cross country teams hosted the first Annual Bud Smitley Invitational. The Lion's hosted Lebanon Valley, Lancaster Bible, Penn Stata Monto-Alt, and McDaniel for the meet. Lebanon Valley finished first, followed by McDaniel, Lancaster Bible, and Penn State Harrisburg. The event unfortunately was cold, rainy, and very muddy but it was a very successful first home meet for the cross country teams.
As a team, both the men's and women's teams had several athletes post personal bests or break school records throughout the season. Many of the athletes also participated on Harrisburg's Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field team.
