Penn State Harrisburg Ends Season at NEAC Championships

ABINGTON, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg wrapped up its 2012 campaign at the North Eastern Athletic Conference's (NEAC) championship meet held in Abington, Pa. on Saturday, Oct. 27.  Coming into the season finale, the Lions had high hopes of placing some runners on the league's all-conference list.  Unfortunately that result did not come to fruition as the Blue and White finished seventh overall of the conference's ten squads with freshman Edgar Makimoto (Middleburg, Pa. / Senlinsgrove, Pa.) the only runner to crack the top 25, individually.

Makimoto's time of 31:53 was good enough for 25th place.  Freshman Kyle Klaboe (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin East) finished three spots behind him with a time of 32:19.  Another CD East grad in freshman Tyler Fry (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin East) came home 39th thanks to a time of 33:37.

Adam Campbell (Columbia, Pa. / Hempfield) and Brian Parsons (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) finished 43rd and 45th, respectively while Jeremy Booker (Raleigh, N.C. / Millbrook) and Lucas Boerman (Mohnton, Pa. / Twin Valley) also finished within two spots of each other in 53rd and 55th, respectively.

Brandon DaCamara (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West) came home 65th, Jordan Fuhrman (Columbia, Pa. / Hempfield) 67th, Sam Converse (Virginia Beach, Va. / Annondale) 71st, Macolm Parker (Mt. Rainier, Md. / Northwestern) 73rd and Joshua Torres (Heidelberg, Germany / Heidelberg) 75th.

SUNY Cobleskill took home the NEAC team championship while Penn State Abington freshman Alex Kane won the overall individual championship on his way to earning the league's Runner and Rookie of the Year honors.  Abington Head Coach Jose Rodriguez was named the conference's Coach of the Year.
