Penn State Harrisburg Gears Up for NEAC Championships

HUMMELSTOWN, Pa. – Just one week before the team participates in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) championship meet, Penn State Harrisburg took part in the Elizabethtown College "Battle for the Buggy" at Shank Park in on Saturday, Oct. 20.  E-town's alumni team took home first place while the group's Charlie Larsen earned the individual top spot.  The Lions managed to earn 12th place of 15 total teams.

Penn State Harrisburg's highest finishing runner was Edgar Makimoto (Middleburg, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area).  The freshman crossed the line in 59th place thanks to a time of 24:57.
 
Freshman Adam Campbell (Columbia, Pa. / Hempfield) took home 84th place thanks to a time of 26:01.  Campbell's fellow Hempfied alum in freshman Jordan Fuhrman (Columbia, Pa. / Hempfield) was the team's third-highest finishing runner at 102nd with a time of 26:50.
 
The blue and white racked up spots 109-111 when freshman Tyler Fry (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin East), sophomore Brian Parsons (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) and freshman Jeremy Booker (Raleigh, N.C. / Millbrook) finished within 15 seconds of each other.
 
Freshmen Brandon DeCamara (Downingtown, Pa. / Downingtown West) and Josh Torres (Heidelberg, Germany / Heidelberg) earned the 123rd and 125th spots while senior David Venturo (Steelton, Pa. / Steelton-Highspire) rounded things up for Penn State Harrisburg with a 145th place finish.
 
The E-town invitational was Penn State Harrisburg's last before the team takes part in its conference championship meet.  The Lions will travel to Abington, Pa. for their final run of the fall this Saturday, Oct. 27.
