WILMINGTON, Del. – Penn State Harrisburg traveled to the Goldley-Beacom College Invitational for its annual fall meet held on Friday, Oct. 5.  Thanks to strong overall performances from runners on both the men's and women's teams, the blue and white were well-represented among the elite level of competitors at the event and finished sixth overall.

The men were led by the Kyle Klaboe (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin East) who finished 29th overall with a time of 32:22.  Finishing second for the Lion men was Tyler Fry (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin East) who came in at 33:07, earning him 33rd place. Brian Parsons (Hummelstown, Pa. / Hershey) finished just a little behind Makimoto with a time of 34:27 which was good enough for a 49th overall finish.  Jordan Fuhrman (Columbia, Pa. / Hempfield), Lucas Boerman (Mohnton, Pa. / Twin Valley) and Adam Campbell (Columbia, Pa. / Hempfield) recorded 54th, 58th and 70th place finishes rounding out the Penn State Harrisburg men.

Many of the women improved on their previous times from this year's other meets.  The blue and white were led by Hannah Jorich (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown Area) and Alisha House (Crownpoint, N.M. / Thoreau).  Jorich finished 49th thanks to her time of 25:54 while House had the team best for the day, finishing 37th with her time of 24:56.

Fay Johnston (Gilbertsville, Pa. / Boyertown Area) and Haldis Zang (Nanjing, Tiangsu) finished one after the other with times of 28:23 and 28:29, earning them 65th and 66th place.  Yamin Lin (Downingtown, Pa. / Collegium Center) was the fifth runner for the Lions who finished 70th with a time of 30:01.

With the success of the runners' times continuing to improve, the Lions hope to keep the momentum rolling next week when Penn State Harrisburg takes part in the Gettysburg College Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 13th.
