MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – The resume of Penn State Harrisburg men's track & field athlete Cameron Yon pretty much speaks for itself.

The Patuxent River, Md. native holds the distinction of being the first student-athlete in the College's history to earn all-America honors. The discus thrower won bronze at the 2016 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships and secured the second U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-America accolade of his career with a seventh-place finish in the national event last spring. During his three years competing for the Blue & White, he's also shown out in Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships.

What isn't readily available for viewing on that incredible resume, however, is the evidence of the hard work and discipline it took to get those high points. A commitment to improvement. To training. To being coachable. These are the small details the senior credits to his tremendous success.

The humility and level-headedness of the son of two military parents was on display when he recently sat down to share stories of his accidental path to Penn State Harrisburg, his love for strength training, the role his father plays in keeping things in perspective and what it means to be the first all-American in school history.

Yon also made known his love for leg day, how soft music aids him in his quest for PRs and why Lil' Wayne's latest album is already an underrated gem.
