Lions Send Five To Nationals

Harrisburg, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg Men's and Women's Track & Field teams are sending five athletes to participate in the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 24-26 in Spire, Ohio. On the Women's side Sarah Lehman will take part in the Long Jump and Triple Jump, and Rae Rae Taylor will compete in the Heptathlon. For the Men's team, Cameron Yon qualified in the Discus Throw, Jalil Clayton qualified in the 110 Meter Hurdles and 400 Meter Hurdles, and Alex White qualified in the Long Jump.

Cameron Yon will be the Lions top ranked competitor at the NCAA Championships, as he is ranked 2nd in Discuss Throw after a 55.83 Meter toss at the Bison Outdoor Classic earlier this season. Yon will be making his third trip to nationals, where he took third in 2016 and tenth in 2017.

Jalil Clayton will take part in two events at NCAA Championships, qualifying in the 110 Meter Hurdles and in the 400 Meter Hurdles. Clayton is ranked 18th in the nation in the 110 Meter Hurdles after posting a time of 14.54 at ECAC Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Clayton is ranked 20th in the 400 Meter Hurdles after posting a time of 53.24 at the CAC Outdoor Championships.

Alex White qualified in the Long Jump after a leap of 7.26 Meters at the 14th Annual Paul Kaiser Classic. White is ranked 14th nationally in the event.

Sarah Lehman punched her ticket to compete in both the Long Jump and Triple Jump at the ECAC Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Lehman posted school record marks with a traveled 11.96 Meters which ranks her 8th nationally and she leapt 5.72 Meters in the Long Jump which ranks her 19th in the nation.

Rae Rae Taylor will be competing in the Heptathlon after scoring 4438 Points at the Mondschein Multi at Millersville University ranking her 23rd in the nation. The Heptathlon is made up of the 100 Meter Hurdles, High Jump, Shot Put, 200 Meter Dash, Long Jump, Javelin Throw, and 800 Meter Dash.
