Lions Find Early Season Success At Jim Taylor Invitational

Penn State Harrisburg opened its 2018 Outdoor Men's and Women's Track & Field season at the Jim Taylor Invitational at Susquehanna University on March 31st. The Lions got off to a strong start having several athletes break school records and produce times and distance good enough to qualify for championships later in the season.

Jalil Clayton lead the Lions on the track winning the 110 Meter Hurdles with a time of 15.14 seconds. Clayton also took second in the 400 Meter Hurdles with a time of 56.24 seconds.

Cameron Yon got his 2018 outdoor campaign off to a strong start. Yon took first in the Discuss with a toss of 47.30 Meters. Yon set a school record in the Shot Put with a throw of 13.94 Meters. Finally Yon finished ninth in the Hammer with a throw of 40.77 Meters. Joseph Rebarchak opened his season with a 52.79 Meter throw in the Javelin.

Alex White picked up where he left off in indoor track with a High Jump of 1.98 Meters and a Long Jump of 6.55 Meters.

Afterwards Head Coach Danielle Lynch said, "I am proud at our tremendous season opener performances. We are off to a great start with several CAC and ECAC qualifiers as well as several athletes being ranked in the top 20 in the country."

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday April 7th at Millersville University.
