Yon Sets Two School Records at Orange & Maroon Classic

Penn State Harrisburg Men's Track & Field team returned to Susquehanna University to participate in the Orange & Maroon Classic. Competing against CAC foes Frostburg St and York as well as several local Division III opponents brought out the best out in the Lions.

Cameron Yon improved on his school records in both the Shot Put and Weight Throw. Yon tossed the shot put 13.92 meters, which was good enough for second in the meet. Meanwhile threw the hammer 15.09 meters, which qualified him for the CAC and ECAC championships.

On the track, Uzoijie Ukattah won the 60 Meter dash with a time of 7.11 second and he also won the 200 meter with a time of 23.99 seconds. Jalil Clayton took first in the 60 Meter hurdles with a time of 8.51 seconds and he finished second in the 400 Meter with a time 51.95. Kadeem Willis recorded his best time of the season in the 400 Meters, moving him to eighth in the CAC standings.

At the pits, Kyle Yi broke the school record for Pole Volt, with a volt of 3.65 meters. Derrick Young took first place in the long jump with a leap of 6.62 meters placing him third in the CAC. Young qualified for the ECAC and CAC championships. In the high jump, Alex White finished second with a jump of 1.98 meters. White also recorded his best distance in the triple jump, traveling 12.54 meters to move into fourth in the CAC.  

The Lions will travel to Bucknell Friday January 26th and Saturday January 27th to compete in the Bison Open.
