Fernandes Leads the Blue and White Against the River Hawks

Middletown, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg men's and women's tennis teams hosted Susquehanna University on Friday October 7th. The women were able to take three matches but fell 6-3 while the men also lost 7-2.

Men's Singles Matches

-Rafael Fernandes dropped his first set in the #1 Singles match before coming back to beat Ben Ornstein 6-4, 12-10 in the final two sets to win

-Pranoy Banka came from behind to defeat Alexander Dove 6-1 and 7-6 in the #2 Singles match

Men's Doubles Matches

-Fernandes and Banka faced Ornstein and Ryan Seibert for the #1 Doubles match, dropping the match 6-8

-John Parola and Ryan McCurdy fell in the #2 Doubles match 8-3

Women's Singles Matches

-Alicia Hitz dominated her singles match, taking down Megan Rudloff in two sets 6-0 and 6-2

-In the #2 Singles Sydney Nye defeated Alyssa Fleischman 6-4 and 6-1

Women's Doubles Matches

-Hitz and Nye also brought home a win in the #1 doubles match with an 8-3 win over Fleischman and Rudloff

-Sarah Shahriar and Tian Chang Lou put up a tough fight in the #2 Doubles match but fell 8-4

What's Next?

The men and women have concluded their fall season and will play next on Saturday March 18th at Southern Virginia for the women and the men's side will play at Immaculata on Thursday March 16th at 4 pm.
