Penn State Harrisburg Mens and Womens Tennis Beat Stevenson

Middletown, Pa.- The Penn State Harrisburg men's and women's tennis teams beat Stevenson at home. The home team dominated in both of their doubles and singles matches. The men's team won 6-3 while the women won 8-1.

On the men's side, doubles partners Manley Wong (Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga Valley) and Harry Kaperstein (Middletown, Pa. / Middletown HS) began the day by winning 8-1. They were followed by teammates James Moore (Lewisburg, Pa. / Red Land) and Rafael Fernandes (Valinhos, Brazil / Colegio Visconde de Porto Seguro) who also won 8-2. During the singles portion of the match Fernandes, Moore, Wong, and Kapenstein each had victories.

The women were just as successful as the men on Sunday. They played three doubles match against the Mustangs and came up with victories in each match. Partners Shawna Brandt (Jonestown, Pa. / Northern Lebanon) and Alexandria Owens (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) easily slid by their opponents 8-1. Individually, Nandita Munindra (Edison, Nj / John P. Stevens), Aiba Diaby (Bladensburg, Md. / Bladensburg), Jessica Miller (Manheim, Pa. / Manheim Central), Owens, and Brandt each won their singles matches.

The men's team returns to play on Wednesday where they will travel to Goucher. The match begins at 3 pm. The women will travel to Immaculata on Tuesday with the match starting at 3:30.
