Penn State Harrisburg Falls to Mary Washington in Spring Opener

Middletown, Pa. – After finishing the fall portion of their 2014-2015 season, Penn State Harrisburg hit the court Saturday March 21st, in hopes to start conference play off with a win over Mary Washington.  The long winter seemed to take a toll on the Lions as they were shut out by the Eagles 9-0.

Doubles play started with the Harrisburg duo of Chris Magee (Westminster, Md. / Manchester Valley) and Mitchell Ebersole (Donegal, Pa. / Donegal) leading off against the top duo of Mary Washington.  The Harrisburg duo dropped the first match of the day, losing 8-2.  The Lions surrendered the next two doubles matches as well, putting themselves in a hole heading into singles play.

Mary Washington, 13-3, lived up to their impressive record in singles play when they swept the Lions 6-0.  The Eagles went on to win the match 9-0.

Penn State Harrisburg won't have to wait long to attempt to get things back on track as they are back in action Sunday March 22nd, when they welcome St. Mary's to town.  The match is scheduled to begin at noon.
