GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Tyler Miller (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Mechanicsburg) made it two for three when the Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis player was named the North Eastern Athletic Conference's (NEAC) Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time in three weeks. This honor comes for the time period ending Sunday, Apr. 7.
Miller started the week by going 1-1 in the Lions' 5-4 victory over Lebanon Valley on Wednesday, Apr. 3. He, along with teammate Josh Cartmill (Carlisle, Pa. / Cumberland Valley), fell 8-6 in the number one doubles spot before bouncing back by winning his number three singles match against the Dutchmen.
On Saturday, Apr. 6, Miller and Cartmill downed Rutgers-Camden's top doubles team by an 8-2 margin and Miller earned a hard-fought 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 win over the Scarlet Raptors' number three man in solo play.
He capped the week with another pair of victories in Harrisburg's 8-1 win over North Atlantic Conference (NAC) West Division rival Penn State Abington the next day. He and Cartmill won their doubles match 8-2 before Miller picked up his third solo victory of the week by winning in the number three slot 6-4, 6-3.
For the year, Miller is 5-0 in singles play and 4-1 in doubles play. The Lions are 8-3 overall and 2-1 in NAC play.
