Miller Earns NEAC Award In First Week of Eligibility

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – In just his first week of 2012-13 competition, Penn State Harrisburg men's tennis player Tyler Miller (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Mechanicsburg) won both his singles and doubles matches during the Blue & White's 6-3 victory over Immaculata in the team's spring opener on Tuesday, Mar. 19.  For his efforts, the junior was named the North Eastern Athletic Conference's (NEAC) Men's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week for the time period ending Sunday, Mar. 24.

Miller, the Lions' number three singles player, emerged victorious over the Mighty Macs' Eric Schmidt by a 6-2, 6-3 margin.  He was the highest ranked Harrisburg player to pick up a win in the match.  In doubles play, he teamed up with the Lions' number four man, Vincent Lepore III (Chepachet, R.I. / Ponaganset), and took down Immaculata's number two pair of Joe Walker and TJ Klinger by a score of 8-4.

Miller and the rest of the Penn State Harrisburg squad is next in action this Tuesday, Mar. 26 when the Lions host Lebanon Valley in their spring home opener.
