Late Goal Secures Another Draw For Men's Soccer

CARLISLE, Pa. - Penn State Harrisburg's men's soccer team netted a goal in the closing minutes of a non-conference game at Dickinson to escape with a 1-1 draw against the Red Devils on Wednesday night, Oct. 12.   

 

Dickinson (6-5-2) broke a scoreless tie when Ethan Jarden put the home team ahead with the game's first goal off a find from Johnny Diederich with just 4:07 left to play. 

 

The Lions (6-2-6) showed off a flare for the dramatic, however, and answered back 66 seconds later when Ethan Cortes put his attempt past Dickinson goalkeeper Nick Potter off assists from Katim Njie and Luke Myers with just 3:01 remaining.

- Penn State Harrisburg's most-recent tie resets the single-season program record of six.

- The Lions finished non-conference play with a 3-2-4 record.

- The visitors outshot Dickinson 13-7 overall and 10-4 in shots on target. 

- Cortes' game-tying goal was his third of the season.
