Men's Soccer Qualifies For ECAC Tournament

DANBURY, Conn. – Penn State Harrisburg will continue its impressive 2018 campaign after qualifying for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Men's Soccer Championship Tournament for the fourth time in program history.

The Lions (14-3-4) earned the #2 seed in Pod 4 and will face #3-seeded Wesley in first-round action on Friday night, Nov. 9. The contest will take place on the campus of top-seeded Stevenson in Owings Mills, Md. Game time set for 7:30 p.m. If the Blue & White are victorious in the opening matchup, they will face the winner of the Mustangs and #4-seeded Franciscan the following night.

The ECAC Tournament consists of 16 teams broken up into four pods, with four teams competing at a designated first-round host site across two days. The opening weekend gets underway on Saturday, Nov. 10 and wraps up on Sunday, Nov. 11. Once seeding is reset, the tourney's four remaining teams will resume competition on Saturday, Nov. 17 before the championship game is held on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 18.

Harrisburg qualified for the national tournament thanks to a strong regular season that included 14 victories, votes in the D3soccer.com Division III National Poll and a regional ranking. The team's defense was stout for much of the fall, evidenced by the group's .619 shutout percentage, good enough to rank 10th in the nation. The unit's .675 goals against average was also good enough to rank 33rd in the country.
