How It Happened

Penn State Harrisburg took advantage of back-to-back home games by giving the team's starters a rare day to recover during Sunday afternoon's 1-0 shutout victory over Fisher at Nittany Soccer Field.

Instead of the usual crew, it was the reserves who led the way for the Lions (13-1-1), making the most of their opportunities in the one-score win. The Blue & White were the more aggressive bunch, racking up a number of chances to get on the board in the early going but the Falcons (1-6-2) were able to repel the home team's push for much of the first half.

Until Max Turner happened that is. The sophomore picked the perfect time to net the first goal of his young career, with his header strike coming just before halftime in the 41st minute off a nice feed from Sokail Ahmedshaker. Harrisburg took a 1-0 advantage into the break and held the slim lead the rest of the way.

Despite solid defense by the Lions for much of the day, Fisher was able to get off a pair of headers in the final 20 minutes but Penn State Harrisburg's back line kept real pressure off goalkeeper Hunter Cooper for much of the afternoon, preserving the team's 13th victory of the fall.
