Penn State Harrisburg Shuts Out D'Youville for First Win of the Year

Buffalo, New York- The Penn State Harrisburg men's soccer team grabbed their first win of the 2016 season this afternoon at non-conference opponent the D'Youville Spartans. Both teams struggled to find the back of the net this afternoon before the Lion's grabbed two second half goals to go on top.

Harrisburg came out strong in the first half with five shots and four corner kicks in the first 10 minutes of play. The Lion's forced starting goal keeper Peter Petruzzo to make several big saves in the first half in order to keep a zero for the home team. Penn State Harrisburg played very strong defensively throughout the game, helping senior goal keeper Brandon Hoover earn his first shut out of the year thanks to allowing the home team to only get one shot off throughout the entire match.
The Lion's found their stride in the fifty-sixth minute of play as Jonathan Majin earned a corner kick after being taken down in the box. Majin stepped up to take the kick and buried for the Lion's first goal of the game and season. Less than ten minutes later, Victor Weaver found the back of the net for Harrisburg once again off of an assist by Ethan Hoover. Weaver's goal sealed the victory for Harrisburg and earned head coach Dan Krzyzanowicz his first win as a Nittany Lion.
