Penn State Harrisburg Shuts Out Southern Virginia

Middletown, Pa.- It was a great afternoon for the Penn State Harrisburg men's soccer team. The men shut out Southern Virginia at home, 2-0, to get their first conference win of the year.

It was easy to see after the first five minutes of the game that the Nittany Lions were not ending the game without a win. The men dominated possession throughout the game and played hard for all ninety minutes. Freshman Manny Little (Selinsgrove, Pa. / Selinsgrove) got his first goal of the season in the sixteenth minute of play. Harrisburg was awarded a free kick and Senior Aaron Kline (Myerstown, Pa. / Elco) stepped up to take it. Kline played a beautiful ball across the cage where Little was waiting on the back post. Little sent it to the back of the net to put the Lions up 1-0. Just before the end of the half, the Blue and White had their second big chance of the game. Freshman Mauricio Pereira (San Jose, Costa Rica / Lincoln) dribbled past several Knights on the right side of the field before playing a ball across the box to Justin Elnahrawy (Staten Island, NY / Susan Wagner) who headed it straight out of the air and into the back of the net. The Nittany Lions coasted through the second half and were able to bring home a very important victory.

The men will travel to Frostburg State on Wednesday for an important conference game. Kick off is scheduled for 7 pm.
