Kline Leads Charge over Spartans

York, Pa. - The lions hit a rough patch in their last game vs Southern Virginia feeling they let a game that was in their hands slip away.   You sure couldn't tell by their effort in today's game vs York College. When you put York College and Penn State Harrisburg on the same field, you can bet that there will be great effort and pride displayed by both sides. And with the history between these two teams; blood, sweat and tears is the name of the game.

Harrisburg has got off to a slow start in CAC conference play coming in today 0-2, so going 0-3 was not an option. Just like they have all season, the lions got off to a great start as Aaron Kline (Lebanon, Pa. / Eastern Lebanon County) scored the first goal of the day in the first ten minutes of the match.  But as games between these two tough teams seem to go, no lead is safe. York would soon score a goal of their own to tie the game going into the half.

Kline and the Lions were up to the challenge. Kline scored a his second goal of the day to give the Blue and White a much deserved and long awaited 2-1 win over York College. After the game assistant coach Will Gordon had this to say about the Lions big win over York College. "There may be many teams out there that take this result as a shock; but to us, this was coming. We have 26 players from top to bottom that truly believe we earned this win. This was the first game of our season where we did not overwhelmingly control possession or connect more passes; but the stats that mattered tonight were two goals to one, the amount of heart and effort put in, and the amount of belief that each and every one of these men have".

The Lions will look to take this well- earned victory and momentum into their next conference game against Salisbury on Saturday October 11th at the Penn State Harrisburg soccer complex for a 2:00 kickoff.
