Middletown, Pa. - The Lions pitched another 3-0 shutout as they were able to out hustle and out play a scrappy McDaniel squad. Once again the Lions showed that not one,not two, but three goals are more their style.

Harrisburg is really on a roll this year.  Already doubling their last seasons win total, the Blue and White are starting to get some real attention with their 6-1 record which includes quality wins over teams like Washington Adventist, Marywood, and now adding McDaniel to the list.  

Isaic Amedza (Philadelphia, Pa. / Samuel Fels)  made an immediate impact after entering the game in the 24th minute.   Just a minute later he found himself in the box, beat a  Green Terror defender and placed the ball in the bottom right corner for his first goal of the season.  

Ten minutes later, the Lions took advantage of a McDaniel error as a dangerously placed corner kick bounced off a defender and into the net for an own goal which gave Harrisburg a 2-0 advantage along with all the momentum.  

McDaniel gave a strong push at the start of the second half, but the Lion defense and GK Devon Gerhart (Newmanstown, Pa. / Eastern Lebanon County) held their ground and refused to allow a goal that could have brought the Green Terror back into the game. Gerhart finished the game with eight saves.  

In what might have been their best team goal of the year, a mulitiude of one touch passiing switched the ball quickly from one side to the next before continuing to cut up the McDaniel defense inside the 18 yard box and set up Ashton Weaver (Gap, Pa. / Pequea Valley) for the final goal of the day. 

"I have stressed to the team from day 1 that we are a performance-based program. Our record is great right now, but my satisfaction as a coach comes from how we have played to get to this point.  We know we have some huge tests coming up, but we ready and we are confident for what lies ahead".  

Head coach Seamus Donnelly is defintely right about that.  The Lions start their Capital Athletic Conference play this Saturday at home against St. Mary's (Md.) for a noon kickoff.
