Lion Men’s Soccer Shows their ready to make playoff run with 7-0 win over Bryn Athryn

The Penn State men's soccer team brought their A-game today in a 7-0 win against Bryn Athryn.  This will surely help them build the momentum they need going into their must win final conference game Saturday against Penn State Berks.

Tommy Miller (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra) got the ball rolling today just 8 minutes into the first half scoring his 7th goal of the season.  His goal was shortly followed up by Justin Henderson (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Cherry Hill East) and Jon Willingham (Harrisburg, Pa. / Sci-Tech High) who also earned themselves a goal in the first half putting the score 3-0 at halftime.

The second half would continue to be all lions.  Claudius Taylor (Landover, Md. / Hammond) started things off scoring in the 63rd minute making it 4-0.  Miller and Henderson followed both adding to their scoring tallies, each scoring a second half goal and making it two on the day for the offensive duo who are also the blue and whites top two scorers. Ricardo Quintana (Toluco, Mexico / Avon Grove) scored his first goal of the season capping things off for the solid performance by Harrisburg.  Quintana was assisted by Kevin McCoy (Bangor, Pa. / Bangor) who enjoyed a few minutes playing in the offensive end as opposed to his usual landmark presence at center back.

"Today's performance was exactly what we needed heading into this weekend's game. Bryn Athryn gave us a good test and the boys responded well with a great overall squad performance." Head Coach Seamus Donnelly was quoted saying following the match today.
