Penn State Harrisburg Sets New School Record

Harrisonburg, Va.- The Penn State Harrisburg golf team started off their season by setting new school records at the Tom Kreider Memorial Tournament. On the first day, the Nittany Lions finished the with a score of 296. By the end of day two, they had a cumulative score of 600. Both of these scores set new school records for the Nittany Lions in their first match of the year.

Senior Tyler Massar (Lebanon, Pa. / Cedar Crest) led the Blue and White with an eighth place finish at (+3). He was closely followed by teammate Tyler Shank (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra Area) who finished the tournament at (+7). Keith Miller (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Thomas Jefferson) also placed with a score of (+8).

 Ferrum College won the tournament and was followed by the host, Bridgewater, and Piedmont. The Nittany Lions had a very respectable showing as a team. They tied with Roanoke College for eighth place out of a total eighteen schools. Coach Banzhoff was very happy with his teams performance, "All of the guys stepped up and fought hard against a quality field." 

 The Nittany Lions return to play on Sunday September 20th where they will host the Penn State Harrisburg Invitational. The starting time had not been announced.
