Harrisburg Finishes 7th at Alvernia Spring Invite

The Penn State Harrisburg men's golf team participated in the Alvernia Spring Invitational Tuesday April 8th.  14 teams participated in the event setting the stage for a competitive 18 hole tournament.  

Harrisburg didn't play their best golf of the year, but with a descent effort from the entire team, were able to finish tied for seventh place.  Tyler Serres (Camp Hill, Pa. / Trinity) was the Lion front man  finshing 13th overall with a plus nine 81.  He was followed up by Jason Long (Rockhill Furnace, Pa. / Southern Huntingdon County) and Tyler Shank (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra Area) who finished one stoke off from each other with +12 and +13 scores. 

The Tournament was won by another CAC member York College with a team score of 318.  Steven Kluemper from Centenary College took home the trophy with his plus four 76 round.  He was tied with two other players, but  won on the 5th playoff hole.

Penn State Harrisburg has just one more match to prepare for next week's Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Championships that will be hosted by the Lions at Dauphin Highlands Golf Course.  They finish their regular season Monday at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.
