Shank finishes 16th in Prestigious Tom Kinder Memorial

Harrisonburg, Va - The Penn State Harrisburg golf team has definitely improved their scores with this seasons new additions to the roster.  Today it was apparent, as newcomer Tyler Shank (Palmyra, Pa./ Palmyra) shot a +2, 74 in his final round to finish on top for the Lions squad at the Tom Kinder Memorial tournament hosted by Bridgewater.  Senior captain Jason Long (Rockhill Furnace, Pa. / Southern Huntingdon County) followed closely behind with a +12, that put him tied for 36th overall.

Unfortunately, with the elite and numerous teams attending the tournament it made it difficult for the Lions.  Hampen-Sydney took home the honors with their 589 total which was a very impressive +13 as a team.  The host team Bridgewater took the second place prize with their +23, while Penn State Harrisburg was tied for 11th shooting a team total of 633.

The Lions will now prepare for their battle next Thursday September 19th at the Gettysburg Invitational.  The men have definitely upgraded their game this season, but have equally pushed themselves by competing in the higher level tournaments.  It will be exciting to see how it all plays out over the long multi-seasons of fall and spring.
