Lions Finish Third In Season Debut

HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg Men's Golf team finished third in their season opening tournament Tuesday afternoon. The Lions hosted seven other teams for the Penn State Harrisburg fall invitational at Dauphin Highlands. The Lions finished just three strokes back to Albright and York College who finished tied with combined score of 303. Albright won the tiebreaker due to their lowest player outshooting York's lowest player by the slim margin of two strokes.

The Lions Jason Long (Rockhill Furnace, Pa. / Southern Huntingdon County) finished fifth overall with a score of 74. York College's Kevin Long finished first overall with a score of 68.

Finishing not far behind Long was, Tyler Shank (Palmyra, Pa. / Palmyra Area) who shot a +3, 75. Rounding out the scorecard for the Lions were Tyler Serres (Camp Hill, Pa. / Trinity) with a +6, 78, Matt Paradise (Moscow, Pa. / North Pocono) shot a + 7, 79, and Matt Hoare (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) shot a +10, 82.

   

The Lions will next be in action this Saturday and Sunday as they compete in the Bridgewater two-day tournament at Lakeview Golf Course.
