Men's Golf Finishes Strong Against Local Competition

Hummelstown Pa - The men's golf team shot strong from the top of their lineup, but it wasn't enough to finish in the top five at the Elizabethtown Invitational.  They did manage a 7th place finish which included wins over nearby Central Pennsylvania competition York, Lebanon Valley College, and the host team Elizabethtown.

Jason Long (Rockhill Furnace, Pa. / Southern Huntingdon County) competitive and fun spirit helped him to finish a cool +3 that was good enough to make the top ten, finishing tied for seventh with a 75.  Matt Plummer (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) finished just one stroke back with a +5 for a 76 and eleventh place.

Messiah College took the honors of winning the tournament thanks to claiming both first and second place finishes.

Penn State Harrisburg finished with 58th, 61st, and 68th place finishes from their 3-5 spots. Coach Mike was, "Very pleased with our top two, but some of our guys down the lineups need to step up.  A lot of positives, along with a lot of negatives and unfortunately it averaged out to an average day."

The Lions head to the Scarlet Raptors Spring Invitational next Friday.
