Men's Hoops Trio Earns NABC Honors Court Recognition

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Thanks to their academic success during the 2020-21 campaign, Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball players Brandon Coleman, Donald Friday Jr., and Pedro Rodriguez have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court.

In order to earn selection to the NABC Honors Court, a program's individual players must carry a grade point average (GPA) of 3.2 or higher during their junior or senior seasons.

Coleman was poised for a breakout junior campaign before injury cut short his 2019-20 season after just two games. The York, Pa. native tallied a career-high 23 points on 66.7 percent shooting, eight assists, and six rebounds in the season opener. The versatile guard was named to the Penn State Harrisburg Tip-Off Tournament All-Tournament Team for his efforts. A Finance major, he currently holds a 3.42 cumulative GPA.

Friday Jr. emerged as a contributor off the bench during the second half of the 2019-20 season. During his sophomore outing, the guard netted 20 total points on 47.6 percent shooting from the field and added depth as an on-ball defender down the stretch. A Business Marketing major, Friday Jr. currently holds a 3.59 cumulative GPA.

Rodriguez logged eight starts and proved a tremendous sixth man for the Lions in 2019-20, averaging 8.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game during his sophomore campaign. The guard netted a career-high 20 points in a victory over Lancaster Bible in early February and reached the double-digit scoring mark on 10 occasions. Rodriguez is a Communications major and holds a 3.43 cumulative GPA.
