How It Happened

In a matchup of soon-to-be annual foes in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC), Penn State Harrisburg routed Penn State Berks 89-49 in the consolation game of the 2018 Widener Tip-Off Tournament For Autism Awareness on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 17.

Donyae Baylor-Carroll poured in a game-high 20 points for Harrisburg, while Kahlil Williams (16 points) reached the double-digit scoring mark for the second day in row. Chris Bing was the third player to reach double digits with 10 off the bench and Gbolahan Alliyu finished one point shy of a double-double.

The Lions (3-1) left little doubt in the contest, leading for more than 36 minutes of game action. The Blue & White quickly pulled away from their counterparts in the game's early moments before taking a sizeable 43-20 lead into halftime.

It was more of the same after the break, with Penn State Harrisburg putting up 46 points in the second half, while again holding Berks to less than 30 minutes during the 20-minute run to clinch the impressive early-season victory.

Inside the Numbers

- Penn State Harrisburg shot 50 percent from the field and held Berks to shooting clip of 33.3 percent from the floor.

- The Lions shot a stellar 44.4 percent (8-of-18) from 3-point territory. Berks converted just two triples on the day.

- The Blue & White assisted on 19 of the team's 33 made field goals.

- Harrisburg won the rebounding battle by a wide margin at 51-to-30.

- The reserves were key for the Lions, outscoring the Penn State Berks' bench 37-19.

- Penn State Harrisburg scored 29 fast break points, 46 points in the paint and 20 points off Berks' turnovers.

- Donyae Baylor-Carroll scored a game-high 20 points and shot 6-of-8 from beyond the arc. He added eight rebounds, five assists and a steal.

- Kahlil Williams posted 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field in just 15 minutes of action.

- Gbolohan Alliyu just missed out on a double-double with 10 rebounds and nine points.

- Chris Bing netted 10 points and grabbed three boards in 14 minutes off the bench.

- Bradley DaBella added nine tallies, while Brandon Coleman and Nelson Jones netted six points each.

- Zegary Scott III chipped in with five points, four assists and four rebounds.

- Matt Seip scored a team-high 17 points for Penn State Berks.
