How It Happened
Penn State Harrisburg used a monster second half to pull away from Gettysburg in a convincing 86-71 victory at the Capital Union Building on the first day of the Penn State Harrisburg Tip-Off Tournament presented by Holiday Inn East on Saturday afternoon, Nov. 10.
The Lions (1-0) were paced by freshman Donyae Baylor-Carroll's game-high 20 points and a 16-point, five rebound effort from Chris Bing. Keenan Wise was the third Harrisburg player to reach the double-digit scoring mark with 14 tallies, including nine from 3-point territory.
Leading 43-35 at halftime, the Blue & White immediately stretched the advantage to double digits after the break with a Gbolahan Alliyu dunk off a feed from Baylor Carroll on the team's first possession of the second half.
Baylor-Carroll extended the lead to 53-39 with a steal and breakaway layup with 16:54 left to play and Bing and Brandon Coleman combined to convert five free throws over the next three minutes before a Wise layup off a Zegary Scott III assist pushed the advantage to 16 and forced the Bullets (0-1) to burn a timeout.
A Patrick Mulville elbow 3-pointer off a feed from under the basket by Khalil Williams created a 25-point cushion with 9:24 remaining and Alliyu's thunderous dunk off a pretty interior pass from Pedro Rodriguez stirred the hometown crowd into a frenzy and gave Harrisburg its largest lead of the day at 80-54 with 5:54 left.
Gettysburg raced out to an 8-2 advantage before the Lions locked in on the defensive end. The Blue & White grabbed the lead for the first time when Baylor-Carroll's contested layup at the 11:56 mark put them up 15-13. The shifty guard again showed off his creativity when he held off a defender and converted a layup while being fouled before sinking the free throw to complete the old-fashioned 3-point play and give his squad its largest lead of the half at 34-23 at the 5:41 mark.

46-to-17 – Penn State Harrisburg's bench was stellar in Saturday's opener, with the Blue & White reserves racking up 46 points, compared to just 17 points contributed from Gettysburg's bench.

- Penn State Harrisburg shot an impressive 50.8 percent from the floor, while the Bullets shot 41.8 percent from the field.
- The Lions were stout from 3-point territory, going 9-of-19 (47.4 percent) from beyond the arc.

- Chris Bing was effective off the bench, finishing with 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field and 6-of-7 shooting from the foul line to go along with five rebounds in just 14 minutes of work.
- Keenan Wise showed off his range, going 3-for-3 from distance en route to 14 points.
- Gbolahan Alliyu filled up the stat sheet with eight points, a game-high nine boards, two assists and one steal.
- Zegary Scott III posted seven points, four assists and one steal in his collegiate debut.
- Brandon Coleman and Patrick Mulville each added eight points off the bench.
- Nick Lord's 18 points led the way for the Bullets.
- Nick Antolini added 14 points and nine rebounds for Gettysburg.

The Lions host Neumann, who defeated Lebanon Valley 87-80 in the day's second contest, in the championship game of the 2018 Penn State Harrisburg Tip-Off Tournament presented by Holiday Inn East on Sunday afternoon. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
