Harris Leads Harrisburg Over Haverford

Haverford, Pa.- Tuesday November 18, tonight the Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball team traveled to Haverford for their third game of the season. The game was a non-conference match up and the Nittany Lions third straight win. Harrisburg dominated the first half by leading 16-2 for the first eight minutes and went on to win 57-54.

Harrisburg played extremely well in the first half and three players came up big for the Nittany Lions. Jourdon Wilson (Mechanicsburg, Pa. / Cumberland Valley), Jazmon Harris (Baltimore, Md. / Patterson), and Austin Chimuma (Bowie, Md. / Annapolis Area Christian) combined for the first 16 points of the game for Harrisburg. The Nittany Lions led the Black Squirrels 16-2 in the first eight minutes of game. At the end of the first half, Harrisburg was ahead 33-21. Haverford worked hard throughout the second half to tie the game up. With only five minutes to go Haverford came back to tie the game at 45-45. With less than a minute to go, the home team led 54-52 but Harrisburg did not back down. Senior Arick Sodini (Manalapan, N.J. / St. John Vianney) came up big with a three pointer to put Harrisburg back on top at 55-54 with 20 seconds left. Harris sealed the win by hitting two foul shots in the last ten seconds. By the end of the game Harris led for Harrisburg with 20 points, 16 were scored in the first half alone, and 7 rebounds. Wilson was close behind with 11 points and 2 rebounds. 

Up next for the men will be a home game on Saturday the 21st against Albright. Game time is scheduled for 2 pm. Penn State Harrisburg will also be hosting the Middletown Community Day and Coat Drive.
