Penn State Harrisburg traveled to Arlington Virginia Wednesday February 11th to take on the Marymount Saints. Despite a very strong second half effort, the Lions fell to the Saints 85-64.
The Lions came into the game looking to knock off one of the best teams in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC). Unfortunately the Saints opened up a five point lead early and kept pushing for the rest of the half. Marymount ended the half on an 18-4 run to go into halftime up 47-25.
Penn State Harrisburg had a lot of ground to make up and slowly worked back into the game, down just 13 points with 3:13 to play. Harrisburg won the second half, but the first half deficit was too much for the Blue and White to pull off the upset.
Leading the way for the Lions was Caleb Barwin (Harrisburg, Pa/ Bishop McDevitt) who scored 14 points by going 4-4 from three point land while also adding four assist and three rebounds. Marquese Daniels (Philadelphia, Pa/ PETC) also provided a strong game scoring 13 points in his 24 minutes.
The Lions will be in action Saturday February 14th for the final away game when they travel to Fredericksburg Virginia to take on Mary Washington starting at 3 P.M.
