Lions Slip on Road to Wesley

Dover, De. – The Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball team just can't seem to find their rhythm so far this season.  Despite winning a few big games so far this year, Harrisburg failed to get a much needed winning streak going Wednesday on the road at Wesley.

The Wolverines jumped on the Lions early with an 11-2 run in the first four minutes of the game.  Nick Seefeldt (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin) scored two with 8:21 to go in the half to bring the Blue and White within five.  Unfortunately that is as close as the men would get.

Wesley was able to keep the Lions at least an arm's length away for the final twenty minutes.  Tariq Bennett (Philadelphia, Pa. / Milton Hershey School) did his best to bring the team back into contention with his game leading 22 points, but even the freshman's season high was not enough to overcome Wesley's extended lead as the final minutes wound down.  The Wolverines slowly pulled away to an 85-69 win.

Keeping things positive, the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) standing are extremely tight and the Lions 2-5 conference record still has them in contention.  There is still plenty of season to go and the new addition of #45 Anthony Morgan (York, Pa / New Hope Academy) may be the bounce they need to get back on track.  Morgan, a transfer from McDaniel College, added 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal in his first outing with the Lions.

The Blue and White host the Mary Washington Eagles this Saturday January 17th at 3pm for the second annual Orange 4 Owen double header at the Capital Union Building.
