Penn State Harrisburg Men's Basketball Helps Community Decorate For the Holidays

The Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball team recently took some time off the court to help out the local Middletown community.  The men teamed up with local residents to help put up the holiday decorations that now fill the town square, as well as the amazing display being held at Hoffer Park.

Penn State Harrisburg is led by first year head coach Don Friday and his helpful influence within the community is no longer a secret.  The Blue & White just had one of their largest attendances to date for their home opener against Messiah on Nov. 20.  Seeing how Friday and his team are reaching out to help, you can see why the fans are responding so well.

Borough Secretary/Communications Director Chris Courogen helped to organize most of the event and had this to say about the Lions helping out.

"It is just great to have a coach and athletics department at the university that is making the effort to work and be a part of the community."

The Blue & White have a couple of days off for the Thanksgiving break before returning home this Sunday, Dec. 1, for a 3 p.m. tip-off against Lebanon Valley.  The women's team is als in action this Sunday and will host Penn State Altoona at 1 p.m.  All of the game's proceeds will be donated to the Radabaugh family.  The Radabaughs recently suffered a tragic house fire that caused injuries, the loss of their home and most of their possessions.
