Former Lion Earns NBA D-League Tryout

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Kenton Alston (Harrisburg, Pa. / Steelton-Highspire), former Penn State Harrisburg basketball player and the program's all-time leader in points scored, rebounds and blocked shots, recently found out that his playing career isn't over just yet.

The 2012 graduate received a phone call from the National Basketball Association (NBA) Developmental League's Sioux Falls Skyforce about a tryout that could lead to a potential training camp spot with the team.  The Steel-High alum's invitation took him to Philadelphia in early in October.

Following a succesful tryout, Alston was invited to the Skyforce training camp.  Unfortunately due to his military training schedule, he will be unable to accept the distinguished invite.  "I have worked so hard to get to this point in the military, plus I have to put my son first most importantly." Said Alton in regards to his decision not to accept the offer to attend training camp.

Alston finished his senior season ranked ninth in the country in blocked shots per game in NCAA Division III play and was a two-time North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) first-team all-conference selection.  He was named Penn State Harrisburg's male student-athlete of the year in the spring of 2012.
