MIDDLETOWN, Pa- Penn State Harrisburg blew out Penn State Schuylkill 105-78 in front of over 100 fans at the Capital Union Building on Monday night, Nov. 28. The Lions were led offensively by junior Steve Jones (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg). The speedy guard netted a season-high 27 points and shot an impressive 11-14 from the field in just 13 minutes of play.

The blue and white scored with relative ease all night long and even got on the board before the clock started ticking thanks to a technical foul being called on a visiting player for attempting a dunk during pregame warm-ups.

From the opening tip to the final buzzer it was all Penn State Harrisburg.

As he routinely does, senior captain Kenton Alston (Harrisburg, PA/Steel-High) fired up his teammates by scoring 17 points and blocking a team-best four shots. Freshman guard Alberto De Los Santos (Enola, PA/East Pennsboro) had the strongest outing of his young career, notching 17 points while going 5-9 from the field, including two three-pointers, and 5-5 from the free throw line. He also grabbed seven rebounds and recorded four steals in just 17 minutes of playing time.

After being named North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) student-athlete of the week seven days earlier, freshman guard Amani Glenn (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) stayed hot by pitching in with 12 points and four assists. Point guard Jordan Gatchell (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central) dished out a team-high six assists. He also added nine points.

The Lions led at halftime 51-36 and the wide margin presented opportunities for some of the younger guys to score some valuable playing time. Freshmen Ethan Strayer (East Petersburg, PA/Hempfield) and Brandon Willett (Frederick, MD/Tuscarora), as well as sophomore Julius Brown (McComb, MS/McComb) all made the most of their time on the court.

The win improved Penn State Harrisburg to 3-2 (1-0 NEAC) on the year. With a tough slate of non-conference opponents including Messiah and Susquehanna still remaining on the schedule, the Lions early non-NEAC victories over Penn State Schuylkill and Elizabethtown in the season-opener could prove valuable in the standings come playoff time.

The Lions will look to keep their high-powered offensive output rolling when they host NEAC foe Penn State Berks in their second conference matchup of the young season on Saturday, Dec. 3.
