Score One More For Jones

MIDDLETOWN, Pa.- For the third time this season, Penn State Harrisburg junior Steve Jones (Harrisburg, PA/Harrisburg) has been named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) men's basketball Student-Athlete of the Week.  The versatile guard twice won the award during the month of January before the conference bestowed the honor on him during this, the final voting period of the 2011-12 campaign.

The Harrisburg grad kicked off the week by achieving an impressive career milestone when he became just the third player in school history to reach the 1,000 point-mark.  He scored 26 points in the Lions' tough 88-83 road loss to conference-rival Penn State Berks on Wednesday, Feb. 15.  Jones also padded his nation-leading steals per game average (4.3) by grabbing eight swipes.  He followed up his historic night by netting 23 points to go along with his five rebounds in Penn State Harrisburg's 83-67 victory over NEAC-foe Penn State Abington on Sunday, Feb. 19 in the team's regular season finale.

Jones' big week was capped off with another well-deserved accolade when he was selected to the NEAC's men's basketball all-conference first-team on Feb. 20, receiving the second-highest vote total of any player in the league.
