MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball team remains in first place in the NEAC standings after Saturday's win over SUNY IT, 78-77. Nick Liddell (Lewisberry, PA/Red Land) had a team high 18 points including the game winning three-pointer. With the win Penn State Harrisburg improves to 8-8 (8-2 NEAC).
The SUNY IT Wildcats committed 24 turnovers while Penn State Harrisburg only gave away 9. The Nittany Lions were able to capitalize on SUNY IT's turnovers to overshadow their impressive shooting effort. The Wildcats shot 57.7% from the floor while the victorious Nittany Lions shot 42.2%.
The Wildcats had the advantage in most statistical categories but Penn State Harrisburg was able to score when it mattered most. With less than 20 seconds remaining the game, Liddell received a sharp pass from Kenny Stone (Philadelphia, PA/Scotland School) to hit a trifecta to give the Lions the final 78-77 advantage. Woodman's defensive efforts were key in the Lions win.
Sophomore Stone had a stand-out game with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. David Reisinger (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) also sunk 17 points for Penn State Harrisburg.
David Golembiowski had an exceptional day for the Wildcats notching a double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Calvin Logins also added 20 as SUNY IT fell to 6-9.
The Nittany Lions will host SUNY Cobleskill tomorrow at 2:00PM.
