Lions Top Wells, Regain Sole Possession of First Place

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. - The Penn State Harrisburg men's basketball team hosted the Wells College Express on Saturday, February 19 to tip-off the final weekend of regular season basketball. Penn State Harrisburg and Wells College entered Saturday's game tied for the top spot in NEAC standings and the game proved to be a clash of the best.

The Lions jumped out to a 20-13 lead forcing an Express time-out. Following the time-out Wells closed within three but the Lions went on another hot streak to lead by as many 16. The Nittany Lions entered the break with the 53-46 advantage. Shane Woodman (Marietta, PA/Donegal) led the Lions with 13 points shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from the floor and 3-of-3 from the three point line. Woodman finished with 20 points.

Both teams battled through the second half with the Lions leading for its entirety. Wells went on several significant runs but were never able to catch the Nittany Lions.  Express junior Terry Harrison led Wells through the second half with 17 points and finished with 21. David Reisinger (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin) had an explosive second half added 17 points for the Lions, shooting 7-for-8 from the floor. Riesinger finished with a team high 26 points and 5 rebounds. Jordan Gatchall (Manheim, PA/Manheim) and Kenny Stone (Philadelphia, PA/Scotland) each added 15.

Andre Sawyers recorded a game-high 28 points and 10 rebounds for the Wells Express.

Penn State Harrisburg will host the Keuka College Storm tomorrow, Sunday, February 20 at 2:00 PM to finish off 2010-11 regular season play.
