Scott McGrady is entering his third season as an assistant coach of Penn State Harrisburg’s baseball program.

McGrady has over a decade’s worth of coaching experience at various levels and he began his coaching career shortly after graduating college. He served as a junior varsity assistant at East Pennsboro High School before taking the reins as the program’s head coach.

He eventually accepted the head coaching position at Steelton-Highspire High School before joining up with current Penn State Harrisburg head coach and then head coach of Hershey High School, Ryan Bown.  As a member of the Hershey staff, McGrady helped lead the Trojans to a Mid-Penn Conference Keystone Division title and the school’s first-ever outright Mid-Penn Championship in 2012.

In 2013, McGrady followed Bown to Penn State Harrisburg and helped lead the Blue & White to their best season in school-history; a campaign that saw the Lions win a school-record 26 games and a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) championship.  Penn State Harrisburg also earned the program’s first-ever NCAA Division III Championship Tournament berth.

At Jackson High School in Massillon, Ohio, McGrady played baseball for four years.  While attending Clarion University, however, he turned his focus to football.  He graduated in 2003 with a degree in Secondary Education- Social Studies and earned his Master's Degree from the University of Cincinnati.

McGrady currently resides in Harrisburg, Pa. with his wife, Lauren and two daughters, Ashlyn and Brenna.
