Iocca Goes 4-4, Lions Defeat Cougars 12-6

Myrtle Beach, SC – The Penn State Harrisburg Baseball team is starting warm up as they travel south for a busy week of baseball.  Sunday March 3rd the men finished on the winning side of a three game series with Washington and Lee with an impressive 13-1 win.   On Monday March 4th, the Blue and White bats were still firing as they defeated Chatham 12-6 with help from a nine run 6th inning.

Penn State Harrisburg: 5-3 Overall

Chatham: 1-3 Overall

 

How it Happened:

Harrisburg went ahead early by scoring one run in the first inning thanks to a Chris Iocca singe that brought in Josh Brubaker.  Penn State doubled their lead in the third inning when Iocca doubled to bring in Bret Williams

The Lions played well defensively to keep the Cougars scoreless and then jumped out in front thanks to a nine run 6th inning.  Leading 11-0, Harrisburg gave a few runs back in the bottom of the seventh inning when Chatham got hot and scored six. 

Penn State never let control of the game slip and shut out the Cougars in the final two innings to claim the 12-6 victory.
